First - Hi everyone. First post, so be gentle.
Been shooting most of my life but never did anything other than clean my guns. All gunsmithing was outsourced. Decided to build my own as a way to 'force' me to learn more. I have an inexpensive Palmetto kit coming, an 80% lower/jig from Stealth Arms (already have drill press, and router), and I'm trying to get tooling together. Shop has vice, bench, hammers, wrenches (metric and imperial) and such. Too many to list, but let me know if there should be something specific. So far gun specialty tooling I have are Wheeler AR - 15 Delta Series Armorer's 7 Piece Essentials Kit (AR15 Combo Tool, Torque Wrench, Upper Vise Block Clamp with Gas Tube Alignment Tool, Pivot-Pin and Roll Pin Installation Tool, Mag Well Vise Block, AR -15 Adjustable Receiver Link), and a punch kit. I've been trying to read here and see that many recommend a Headspace Go/NoGo Gauge. Unfortunately, the only source I have been able to locate one is Amazon. I buy a lot from Amazon, but want to ensure I get something that will work. Does anyone have other recommendations for source, or feel Amazon should be fine? Additionally, does anyone feel that there should be anything added to the above list? Thanking you much for the help, |
| Hard to beat Brownell's from a perspective of availability of gunsmithing tools. Their prices aren't always the best, but they pretty much will have everything you need including headspace gauges Brownells gunsmith tools |
