I'm confused. I'm building my first AR (MK12) and have a question.
I'm wanting to run a 15 inch rail, most of which are classified as Gas System Length: "extended rifle". I'm not finding any extended rifle length barrels though? Will a RIFLE LENGTH gas system/barrel work with EXTENDED RIFLE LENGTH rail? So confused as to how these things correspond. - Cap |

Rifle length rail system is designed to fit in between the receiver and a Front Sight Base -FSB on a rifle based gas system if the rifle is so equipped.
Rifle length I think is 12 inches Mid length 9 inches Carbine length 7 inches Pistol is 4 inches A "Extended Rifle" rail is just stating it is longer and will require a Low Profile Gas Block because it wouldn't fit in between the receiver and the FSB if it has one. |
