What is the strongest hammer spring available for an AR15? I built a 50BMG upper that uses an AR15 lower and it takes 2 or 3 hammer strikes to fire a round. This is not a pleasant situation when shooting a 50 BMG so I’m looking for the heaviest hammer spring available.

Wolf extra power spring is probably the heaviest.

Look at the positive side--I bet this situation exposes some serious flinches.

You might check into this one:

Thanks all for the help.

Another thought would be to get a heavier hammer.
Mark Serbu of BFG-50 fame uses a extra mass hammer in his BFG-50's you may want to see about purchasing one of his hammers or similar "heavy" hammers.

www.biggerhammer.net would be another resource for .50 BMG parts and related info.

So I got the Wolf heavy hammer spring and viola one trigger pull one big bang!
I still flinch but only once per shot now.
Thanks all!
