I just took my new Stag Arms AR to the range today. When I loaded and fired the first round, it did not extract, and the fired case was stuck in the chamber. It took some hard work to get it out. No problems the rest of the morning. I took the rifle home, cleaned it and took it back out this afternoon and after the first shot I had the same problem. This time it was much harder to get the case out. After it finally ejected I removed the bolt to inspect it, and reinstalled it. The next case did the same thing. I was using Wolf Military Classic and LC XM193. I don't think it is due to the ammo, I'm guessing I am not putting the bolt in the correct position after cleaning? The last round is still stuck in the chamber. Any tips for getting it out. I don't want to break anything. Thanks in advance!

I was able to use a mallet on the charging handle to get the case out. So that is all set, but I still am not sure what I did wrong with the bolt.

Tap the case out with a cleaning rod. Next, clean the chamber with a chamber brush and some CLP.

Is there a reason only the first round I fire gets stuck?

Does Stag have a warranty on the AR? If you've cleaned the chamber properly with the right chamber brush and used CLP, it should not malfunction like this. You might want to consider sending it back so they can look at it.

Clean the chamber really well, and dont use the wolf ammo. Is the wolf ammo laquer coated?

I will clean the chamber and maybe use a little extra CLP than last time. I will be taking it out again this weekend, so I will see how it goes. Thanks guys!

put a #60 o-ring under the extractor with the spring and it will be fine.  My Stag M4 build did this til it was broken in.

Thanks Kimber. I'll try that. Good to know I wasn't the only one with the problem.
