I am trying to install a BCM extractor spring into my young's mfg chrome BCG extractor.
I know you are supposed to get it out by turning it counter clockwise, and put in the new one turning in clockwise.
I got the original one out but my damn fingers are too big to turn the new one into the extractor. I tried until I couldn't feel my finger's anymore. AAAAGGHHH!!!!

My question is:
Can I gently squeeze it in with a taped up pare of pliers without doing any harm to the spring?

I just used a pair of needle nose pliers to install one.
