I'd like to order an extractor or two just in case one of mine breaks.  Where is best to order from price-wise.  But more importantly, what do I want to look for to make sure it's good to go?  The ones on GB are advertised as "old, retro, M16"... what should they look like and are they just called extractors or is it mil-spec extractors, etc.?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

There are milled, cast, and MIM extractors out there. I would make sure I got a a milled type milspec extractor.

I have always thought Stag Arms had a fair price for parts for what you get. http://www.stagarms.com/bolt-rebuild-kit/

I actually tried googling "Milled AR-15 extractor" and got nothing but links for the 870...not sure why.

At $21 shipped I could order from Stag but does anyone else carry them?  Aim didn't have any.

Thanks

The extractor is one of those critical parts (especially in short gas system) that should be made of the proper tool steel (not sure what is right - S2, A2, S7?), heat treated and shot peened.  Of course none of those things are readily discernable and most companies don't give the specifics, so you just have to buy based upon reputation.  The extractor is not a place to save a few nickels.

Amen...  Not that an extractor is an important part or anything.

Do they offer the same service if the person who buys it isn't an employee?

No, I'm not saying that.  I'm saying that every problem I've had with extraction has been solved by a bravo extractor.  I do have a CMT bcg that works great, but if it starts acting up, it will have a Bravo extractor and spring in it.

What is the difference in the ejector/extractors that Noveske uses and the Stag ejector/extractor?
