| What can be done to the feed ramps to allow easier feeding ? I get an occasional hang up where the round seems to get hung up on the feed ramps. Can I slightly stone/file the sharp edges on the feed ramps ? Any help would be appreciated. thanks |
Adding feed ramps to your semi auto won't help, it will on on full auto though. It is most likely a bad mag follower that is dipping down. Replace the mag spring (Wolf, ISMI, etc.) and follower (use the new Magpul 4-way anti tilt). Don't use a dremel, file, etc. on the existing feedramps as you will most likely damage it. More importantly, you will cut into the anodizing of the metal and that will cause more harm than good. |
| I have tried several ( 3 ) different mags with the green followers and they all have the wolf extra power springs in them, and they are still having this problem. I have wondered if it were my mags because it only seems to do it on the last 2 or 3 rounds, but after putting wolf springs in them and they still do it, now I'm not so sure. Any ideas ? |

check for short stroke first. if the ramps are rough or incomplete you can smooth them out in a variety of ways. the ramps are more for carbines using heavier ammo due to the higher cyclic rate and lower feding of the heavier projo but they don't hurt function on a rifle and help with short blunt loads like the 40 gr Blitz. there are pics linked in the Glossary and the FAQ so you can compare your ramps to correct ones. |
