So as the title says--- Im going to remove my Fashhider as soon as my barrel vise arrives. However, I don't see this process doumented in the guides section, and my searches turn up partial answers, or none at all in some cases.

I had tried to remove the FH using the wood block barrel vise method---however I either ended up breaking the wood, or the upper would spin as I tried to remove the FH.

So, to that end I have a few questions....

Looking down the barrel from the muzzle end back towards the charging handle one should be turning the FH in which direction? CounterClock wise? (Lefty loosey)

I have the Phantom 5C2 Flash Hider, installed by Delton---So I know it is threaded.... However it doesn't seem to "want" to come off. I currently have it soaking in CLP and will try again when the vise arrives. Does anyone put solder on barrels that are already over 16.1" long? (And should I use a propane torch to head the FH a bit in either case?)

Now, when I install the Comp--- I know I should use a NEW crush washer, and tighten to 15-20 FOOT pounds, however I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this---and be able to measure the pressure. Rather than using a cressent wrench----how do you all put on your flash/comps without over-doing it?

Again, I know this question has been asked before, however I could not find anything in my searches---and Im damn sure it's not in any of the FAQs or Stickies....

Thanks for the tips...

Looking down the FH the way you described you'll turn it counter-clockwise to remove.

An actual penetrating oil would work better than CLP.  Much lower viscosity.

How long is the barrel? If it is a 14.5" the flash hider will be blind pinned on. This will take you cutting the FH off.
If the barrel is over 16", it should just be screwed on. Give 'er hell.
