Well I finally got my XM16E1 lower from Nodak Spud this morning. I started this build when I bought the upper half off Gunbroker in October. In the meantime Retro BRD has cought on bad and I've gathered parts for three more builds What do you guys think of my first retro attempt?

No, I've got that upper set aside for an XM177 build. This upper came off Gunbroker, complete upper half that doesn't appear to have been fired much, if at all. No wear on inside, still has cosmoline on parts of receiver and barrel. |

That receiver is a partial mag fence lower and IS right. I even got my glasses on Check out the excellent lower receiver model/builders thread by Fitter at the top of the forum threads here. Just think of it this way, first there was the slabside, then it was structurally improved with the partial mag fence lower, then it was improved by the full mag fence lower, which finally got improved even more structurally and became the A2 lower. Whew....that was one heck of a long sentence!

I gotta get one of those 601 lowers someday.....then the A1 gets to come off my 601 upper and get turned into a GUU-5/P, or a 651, 652, or 653, maybe a GAU-5A/A....oh hell the possibilities are endless See what you all have done to me???
