since FN is now the largest contractor building M16,s for the military has anyone heard if they will be producing AR,s for the civilian market?

They won't. They build the military's rifles through a particular arrangement that actually forbids them from producing civilian products based on the AR. Kinda sucks, but that's the way it is.

There are FN barrels and parts floating around out there, but you will not see any of their rifles on the market.
Maybe in 14years when the agreement ends.

Then don't they have to return all the "technical materials" (drawings, specs, etc.)?
