| A local store has some linked '92 NATO headstamped .308 in 200 round sealed cans for $59. I know this is probably a little high but if the quality and accuracy is good, I would be willing to pay it. I am looking for some good surplus for making groups out of my M1A at the range and not necessarily plinking ammo. I have other stuff for that. Has anyone used this stuff? Is it worth the price? Reloadable? Thanks in advance for the responses. |
I have seen it in cardboard boxes on FAL strippers. Sadly I did not know anything about it but they had ~2500 rounds for sale and it was the same price as SA308. Will know next time I see it. |
Thanks for the info guys! I did some more digging and you are right it is the portugese stuff. I got a little excited when I seen the Fn headstamp. Is it still worth it? I hate to spend the money on the links as they are worthless to me. The ammo looks fantastic, shiny and clean and the ammo boxes have the factory seals on them. Heres what it looks like. Any thoughts?http://www.ammunitionstore.com/Images/Ammo/A012.9.jpg Turk |

Port is good stuff, if you can find it at a good price buy it as it's getting harder to find. I do still see it still but the price has gone up as the supply has dwindled. I stocked up on Surp .308 because I think that it will be more expensive in the future and while we will still get some in, it won't be in the quantities as in the past. Since it will be in smaller quantities the price will be higher. If you can find surp .308 at good price, I would suggest you salt away a bit if you like it and if you can afford to buy it now. Just remember that it is Berdan primed and non reloadable, but you can always recycle the empties and make a few bucks off of it. I know a coffee can [34 ounce type] full to the top weighs around 7 to 8 lbs. $59 is not that great of a price, thats close to $300 per K. I'd try some of the SA if you can find it as it's quite a bit cheaper. The SA also is copper jacketed and OK to shoot at ranges that won't let you shoot steel bullets or cores. AIM still has it for around $180 per K. They are an advertiser here and I recommend them without hesitation. I've bought a bunch of ammo from them and they are a 100% bunch of good guys. |
