i just got an LMT upper 16" w/ standard FSB. I want to eventually put a mini gas block on and put a full lenght rail over it. How do I put a mini block on when it has the slots for the FSB pins? Most mini blocks screw on right?

Depending on the rail, you could just cut the orig. FSB to fit inside of it.

I would just knock the pins off the FSB and install a mini block and keep the original FSB intact that way you won't have to have a new FSB redrilled to fit the old pin channels.

Just my take on it.

You just clamp the mini block over it and leave the fsb pin channels there.

If I knock of the pins and put a mini in they wont have the same pin set-up will they? Most I have seen have 2 screws that screw up from the bottom as opposed to being inserted like the FSB originals. EDUCATE ME!

PRI low profile gas block screws in from the bottom.  You don't need to worry about aligning anything.

Also, check out MIs new low profile gas block.  I just got a sample but it's plenty low and it will be $40 - $45.
