My front sight base smoked and fizzled on one of my latest rapid fire strings.  I have four set screws which align the base for a mechanical zero on this DCM barrel.  Probly the LocTite green started to burn off.

I now noticed the accuracy is out of whack.  I thought maybe as a resutl of the LocTite burning off, perhaps I no longer have as good a seal or the FSB was loose.  I put in the allen wrench to test the screws, they were still very tight.  The back sight appears good and firm. (??)

What is going on?  anyone ever have this problem before? Ever heard of this?

With loctite, just because the screws will not turn or turn easily, doesn't mean that they are tight against the barrel.  I would remove the screws, remove the old loctite and reinstall the screws, maybe using blue loctite this time and see if that works better.
