I am sure I've seen this discussed here before, has anyone tagged these threads and can share the link?

Thanks in advance!

What's your specific question?

No specific question. I am planning my next rifle with FSB and would like to read the previous discussions on the subject...

ELPerdido thanks for correcting, I meant FSB not FSP....too many threads looking for pictures FSP rails cut.

Anyone has links to previous discussions...

It's matter of personal preference really.

FSB

1.  Dead nuts reliable and durable.  Two pins holding on a chunk of steel.  Your front sight is not the weak spot in the weapon: something else will break first.
2.  Which means it's heavy.

Low Pro Gas Block + Rail mounted sights

1.  It's lighter
2.  It provides a long length of pull typically (the "Dissy" configuration is an exception)
3.  There are more potential areas of failure.  Is your LPGB pinned on?  How durable is your front front on the rail?

All in all, I think both type of builds have their place, but i'm more partial to FSB builds, personally.

Here are my 3 personal AR-15s, haha

Nice rifles. Do you prefer the rails with the FSP cut or the shorter ones running up to the FSB?

I've grown to hate ARs without a FSB.  With exception of precision rigs.  Form follows function!
My favorite rail:

FSB is no issue with 3X optic either.  I much prefer this setup to previous one that was 12" Lite rail over shaved FSB.

With rail selection, it's kind of a matter of budget as well as ergonomics.  I like the real estate afforded by the FSB cut rail (the rifle on top), but the standard 7" and FSP cut rails (bottom two) are more affordable.

The FSP cut is kind of "best of both worlds".  Only Bravo Company has them in stock at this time (2/12/2012)

Pinned FSB cut to fit under rail FTW.

I  use only fixed FSB
Also
never had any problems using a scope or aimpoint/eotech with a FSB
