I want to take off the FSB on my Bushmaster and I'm having a hell of a time getting the taper pins out. I have hit them pretty hard with some heavy hammers and a punch and no luck. They won't budge at all. I'm driving them left to right which is what the Brownell's video says to do. I even tried putting a little oil on them.

Is there something I'm missing?

Bushmaster pins have been the most difficult pins I have ever removed.  Make sure your working on a SOLID surace so the force of the blow goes to the pins, secure the barrel to make sure it doesn't move around on you and that it is in SOLID contact with the SOLID work surface.  Use a strong punch and a heavy hammer and hit it HARD.

If that doesn't work, you can try a good soak in penetrating oil.

I had to drill the pins out of one Bushmaster FSB by securing it in a vise under a drill press and drilling through the center of the pins.  Once I had a hole drilled through the center of the pins a small punch would grab hold of the metal in the drilled hole and the pins came out.

They can be tricky but they can be removed

Be sure you are hitting the small side of the pin. They are on the left side on my Bushy Patrolman 16" with an A2 sight. And they were tough to punch out.
