First build, first trip to range, M&A 16" M4 kit with Superior lower.  With one round in magazine first round fired, bolt came back locked open, then I saw case still in chamber.   Tapped it out, chunk gone from rim.  Sprayed CLP and put a different fired case in to see if it would eject out, nope.  Did the bang on the floor drill, out she comes.  After reading the FAQs I am thinking I have a rough chamber.  My question is, is my analysis correct and if so how do I polish the chamber?

Thanks in advance.

Have you cleaned the chamber with an M16/AR15 chamber brush?

Pull the extractor off the bolt, install a #60 O-ring around the extractor spring, and put everything back together.

Unless the chamber is really reamer chattered, normal break in of the barrel should solve the problem with the added extractor tension, and at which time the barrel has broken in, the O-ring should no longer be needed.

If it tore a chunk out of the rim the ejector is working. You most likely have a timing problem, the bolt is cycling too early and trying to pull the spent case before all of the pressure has subsided. This
article explains a lot.
