I have a bushmaster 24in Varminter Extra Heavy Barrel Assembly on a CMT upper receiver This is what its doing. at first it will cycle a about 3 to 4 rounds then once it gets dirty it does not cycle at all. When it ejects the spent caseings the just seem to drop out of the gun. it used to hang up on the next round in the mag but not it will not even pick up the next round at all. Things ive done to try and fix this. Ive used 4 different kinds of ammo, 3 different mags each of these mag work flawlessly in other ARs. Its good and oiled but not over oiled. Head space is good Some things ive noticed about this is the carrier move freely but the bolt will not lock in the chamber just using the force of gravity. There is a lot of filth on the charging handle but the bolt and reciever are fairly clean. The biggest thing is that the barrel's gas port and the 2 dimples for the gas block alignment are canted. Ive checked and double checked the alignment of the holes for the barrel and gas block. the hole in the gas block is big enough that if you leave it canted or if you straighten it, it will not block the any of the gas port on the barrel. Where should i go from here? |

As for the gas block needing to be canted, how much (read will the bolt lugs enter and exit the barrel extension lugs without binding)? |
