SoI have a random FTF on my 16"er doesn't matter what ammo I use. I can get the bullet to fire if I pull it out and put it back in the mag and try again. The barrel is a plain 16" AR stoner from midwayusa. the original BCG was one from a LGS no name brand on it then I tried using the BCG out of my RRA 10.5" pistol upper it seemed to work for a while then there other day the random FTF came back. What could be causing this? |

standard buffer and buffer spring. Yes both the BCGs were new and have been oiled up well Quoted:

What buffer and buffer spring are you using? Is the BCG brand new?? Have you oiled it up??? standard buffer and buffer spring. Yes both the BCGs were new and have been oiled up well On new BCGs, make sure the bolt is oiled really well. Also, (with an unloaded gun and no ammo around), charge the gun and while looking at the BCG dry fire the gun. Does the bcg move forward any further when you dry fire it? |

I would say about 10 or 11 rounds out of 100 won't go the first try. I'll have to try what you said above when I get home from work tonight. |

Try diagnosing your problem following the steps in Chapter 2 of the TM.

| OK so the BCG does not move when I dry fire with or without a snap cap loaded. but I didn't notice that the hammer spring seems to be weaker than the one in my pistol lower. I pulled the uppers off and put my hand in front of the hammer and puller the trigger and the one in my rifle was quite a bit weaker than the one in the pistol. So that could be the problem right? |

I went and bought a new spring today and it seems to be a little stronger but still not as strong as the one in my pistol. I'll have to try and get some ammo and go to the range next week while I'm on leave. |
