I have a ar with a 14.5" barrel with mid length gas a jp silent capture spring a young national match bcg and a gisselle sd3g trigger.
On about every 10th round when I pull the trigger I hear a click and nothing the primer will have a slight dent but not much more then you typically get from closing the bolt also the bolt will lock back on a empty mag but about half the time the bolt will not be all the back just the carrier. The rounds eject at about the two o clock position. I am shooting 60gr Nosler Spitzers that I reload just a bit too the hot side. I have two other ar's that are set up real similar to this that function flawlessly.   Thanks

Say that again...

This doesn't make any sense to me....and leads me to believe you have a problem in the BCG

PICS?

The carrier is locked back but the bolt is not bolt release is catching the bottom of the carrier and not the bolt. The more I talk about it I'm starting to think the rifle is under gassed for this set up.

Have you tried a traditional buffer and not the aftermarket one?  Have you tried any domestic made factory new ammunition, and if so what are the results when compared to your personal loads?  Since you are loading your own ammunition, are you using a traditional hard rifle primer?  The trigger system you are using, what does it weigh in at, as if you have too light of a trigger pull and combine it with a hard rifle primer, then you may not have enough energy to get reliable ignition.  Check to make sure you hammer spring is in correctly.  Another possibility is that the firing pin is not reaching the primer fully to get ignition.  This is often attributed to bolt carrier assembly bounce, due to the bolt carrier assembly may have too much energy when moving forward, and upon the bolt locking into battery the carrier will dissipate the sudden stop energy by bouncing rearward, which can result in the carrier not being fully forward (meaning that the carrier is slightly to the rear of full battery, but the bolt has not unlocked from the barrel extension).  If the carrier is slightly to the rear and the trigger is pressed, the hammer will strike the firing pin, but the firing pin cannot reach the primer to cause ignition. If you have not tried a traditional buffer, then my recommendation is to try one and see what results you get.  You can try a heavier buffer to slow the rearward movement of the bolt carrier assembly, and replace the action (buffer) spring to make sure it is not too weak.  Check the firing pin protrusion, if it doesn't protrude out of the front of the bolt face enough then it would cause ignition failures, also make sure the firing pin has no carbon build up on the front head (stop) or on the back tail of the bolt that would interfere with the firing pin reaching the primer.
