I recently completed building my first AR.  It will not eject.  I can pull the charging handle and the spent casing ejects and the new round seats fine.  After firing a round the spent casing does not eject.
I swapped the upper with another AR, and the same issue occurred.  The lower functions fine, but the upper continues to not eject the casing.
I am sure I did something wrong when assembling the upper.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

How is your extractor spring? Maybe its broke/not there. Or needs to be stronger (add the o-ring) Also does your brass that failed to eject have extractor marks on it? I guess another thing that I am "assuming" is ok, but does your bolt carrier move at all? maybe your gas tube is upside down…. I need more info…..

gas block is off maybe, or backwards

is it adjustable or fixed?

Gas block is adjustable.  The rifle was built piece by piece, nothing preassembled.  I'll check the extractor spring and gas block assembly again.

Rifle shoots great.  I just have to manually load a road each time by cycling the charging handle to extract the spent casing and feed a live round.

So I guess the obvious questions are did you adjust the gas block? And is the bolt moving at all?

sounds like a gas problem the gas block might not be placed correctly

yes, and he may have closed the adjustment too tightly.
