I posted awhile back about a failure to extract on a new rifle. The original failure to extract would leave the case in the chamber, but not pick up another round and the bolt would close fine as if another round chambered.
Barrel is a 16" midlength 1x7 chrome lined Sabre Defence with FSB, BCG is M16 BCW. I have checked the gas port, gone through this gun up and down and can not find a problem. Took it out again today with BCW extractor upgrade, and added a H buffer.Same results but now I get another round chambering against the non extracted case. Fire single round the bolt locks back but again no ejection of case which takes minimal effort to push out.I follow this up with a Y/M BCG same results. The cases are missing the lip which is ripped off during attemped ejection so extractor is functioning.I have tried other mags, springs, H2 buffer, with all the same crap happening. I am starting to lean towards a chamber issue, and or severely over gassed situation, gas port on the barrel is at about .090 from the factory which also pinned the FSB which is definitely clear. Next step is to mic out the chamber and figure out if this barrel is just bad?Sad part is that the one round I can fire holds 1 MOA at 100 yds. Any inout welcome |

And could you post a few photos of the spent cases? |

Any inout welcome Looking at the photos and seeing all that you have done to troubleshoot this issue, there is little left to rule out. If your barrel diameter is .750, then a .090 gas port is beyond the high side. I am suspecting either one of two things, over function due to an extremely overgassed system or a possible headspace issue. |

I agree! Headspace is fine I have go no go gages and checked that, I think it comes down to chamber size, and on the overgassed side based on the gas port diameter.Adco is local so I believe I am going to send it in and have the barrel re chambered for 5.56 on the chance the chambering is bad, it's $30.00 a cheap price I want to save the barrel.
I doubt at this point that I could return it to PKfirearms since I purchased it in May. Thanks for your help |
| I emailed PKfirearms about the problem, and I could not believe it but they called me within 10 minutes genuinely concerned, and emailed me a call tag for shipment to evaluate the barrel.Whatever the outcome you can not beat service like that, and I will definiely purchase from them again.Looks like I will get this resolved. |
