I have a brand new RRA I put together the lower myself, but the upper I bought assembled.

I am going deer hunting next weekend & want to use it, so yesterday I did a sight in for the scope. It was going good at 1st, but about 1/2 through the 30 rnd mag I pulled the trigger, & nothing happened. No hammer action I could hear or feel. I checked the bolt to see if it was all the way forward, & hit the forward assist with no movement.

Tried again & nothing, trigger wouldn't disengage so I pulled the charging handle back & ejected the rnd & tried again. Boom. A few more rounds & problem happens again. Nor it's happening every few shots, & I pick up the unfired rnds & pocket them. Finally make to the end of the mag & put about 7 rnds from my pocket into the mag, & fire a few of them then it does it again.

I checked the bolt carrier every time & it seemed to be all the way engaged.

So what would cause this to happen?

The parts in the Lower are all RRA's & the upper came with the bolt/bolt carrier group.

Ammo was BlackHills 55gr FMJ & it did eventually fire every round.

Question is, was the trigger resetting, hence did you try to just push the trigger back forward (read did it seem that the trigger was back in the correct position when you tried to pull it)?

Since you did check to confirm that the bolt was locked up via the FA, I would say to pull the FCG back out of the rifle, and both clean/ lube them, check the receiver cavity for blown primer pieces that may be under the trigger, check to confirm that you had the disco spring installed correctly (large coil side down into the trigger slot), and even check the disco and secondary sear of the hammer (the back one) for edges burs that may have been keeping the disco from releasing the hammer/ allowing the hammer to reset at trigger release.

Ok Dano523, this is just plain embarrassing. I feel like the guys on sling blade who couldn't figure out why the lawnmower wouldn't start, it was out of gas.

I went to take the FCG out to inspect it for burrs & such, & the trigger pin had moved in so far it wasn't in the outside of the receiver anymore.

So who sells the anti walk fcg pins like the AR at the top of the site?

KNS makes those.  However, before going to those, double check that your hammer spring legs are installed over the top of you trigger pin.  The groove in the pin is for the spring legs to rest in to keep the pin retained in place.
