Hey guys I am looking at getting an aimpoint M4s but before I buy one I would like to know if there are fakes of them yet and if so what should I look for? the differences between the real deal and the fake?

Yes they are out there.

I just bought one of these last week based on feedback from this site. Excellent customer service, have it mounted but not yet shot with it.

If you buy it from a reputable Aimpoint dealer (see my sig line), you will know you are getting the real deal.  If you buy it second hand or on Ebay, or for a price that is way below MAP, you never know...

Thanks for the plug but that is not what the OP was asking. He wants to make sure he does not get a counterfeit.  I just want to clarify ours are not counterfeits and our M4 style does not look like a Aimpoint or have a stolen logo. Anti gun EBay is responsible for the flood of counterfeits into the market. Buy your aimpoint form a reputable dealer. Buying from a AR15.com site sponsor is safe since we have no where to hide if we screw up. We would all be helping the industry to never buy from Ebay
