Ordered 2, what were supposed to be, H3 buffers from armil-spec.com. Ended up being 2 solid, aluminum pieces... Oh-oh. Just dropping the slide without a mag, I can feel bouncing. Opened them up and, yes, solid; no weights. Did I just get taken for $60 or is there some use for this crap?

Solid buffers would not be mil-spec.
Contact them and get your money back or the correct buffers.
Seems like the saying about too cheap to be true would apply here.

That's the one.

I do understand what the buffer is supposed to be. Carbine buffers go for $7. $25 for an H3 seemed perfectly reasonable. I emailed the retailer, we'll see what they say.

I suppose reasonable people can disagree on what is reasonable here, but to me that price is not even in the ballpark of reasonable for a 100% USA made H3 buffer.
Hopefully this is just a mistake and they will fix it.

At a time when outfits like PSA are moving complete uppers for $200, it's not crazy to think a $30 H3 could be legit. Prior to the current market glut, I'd agree.

Nah, I've seen them bounce more than milspec. I'll stick with H2s.

I just ordered a stripped upper {CERRO FORG} from these people, hope this is not normal business practice for them.

After some back-and-forth, I was able to ship them the solid "H3" buffers back. They sent me 2 H buffers in return... Oh, well. At least I can make 1 H2 out of them and have a carbine buffer on hand.
BTW, as far as "reasonable price" discussion goes, PSA is selling H2s for $20. And I know those are g2g.

I bought a New H3 Heavy Buffer off MGO. It turned out solid and used. So I left negative feedback and the guy still wanted to argue .

Should have known it was a fake for $15. At least I can perform surgery on it and have an empty body , pin and rubber
