Anybody have any success with this. I tried it with my Clint Beyer barrel today and it shot just like bulk pack. 2-3 rounds on top of each other, then a flier.

In my experience it shoots about the same as Federal Bulk, with one huge exception.  In very cold temperatures it's extremely inconsistent.  I've seen a lot of squib rounds out of Automatch in the winter time.  I personally think this is a potential safety issue.  I've never seen one stick in the barrel (yet) but with this tendency to have squibs in cold weather I think it's just a matter of time.

I have had good luck with it. Very reliable feeding in my 22/45. Its not like wolf extra match in my kimber 82 but I buy it for the reliability in the pistol.

I've bought two cases of Automatch so far (I have a lot in the "ammo box" right now).    In our rifles (10/22, CMMG .22 LR, 15-22, 522, and more) it seems about like the std Blue Box Federal Bulk Pack, but we seem to get less dud (no primer) rounds.  Of course we are too small of a sample to mean anything.   It seem fairly consistent to me, but I own no match grade .22 LR barrels.  To me 1/4 inch at 25 yards is a pretty good group with a .22.   Every now and then I get 2 or 3 on top of each other, but not that often.  I don't think the issue is the gun or the ammo.

I've never experienced the mentioned issues in cold weather, but I've only shot Automatch down to about 35 F so maybe that's not cold enough, or I am getting different luck with a different batch.

We keep Automatch in stock because we found it works PERFECT in our Sig Mosquito.   Even the recomended CCI Mini Mags after a lot of work, still fail to feed correctly about 1 our of every 50-100 rounds in that.   The last almost 1500 rounds Automatch in the Mosquito have been perfect, except 1 failure to fire which seemed to have no primer.

Since we see no great difference from the cheaper bulk packs, we mainly only use Automatch in the Mosquito.  I does facinate me that these work so well in the Mosquito, and neither the std Fed Bulk Pack or CCI Mini Mags do.

I have found the very same to be true!  I have a fair amount of this ammo I had picked up during the last scare. I found that in my rifles it was no better than the cheap Federal Bulk stuff from Wally World. Oddly however I found that in some of my pistols, including the Sig Mosquito, it functioned better than the Federal Bulk. I can not explain why, just that it does. I quit using it in my rifles as it was a waste of time, but the pistols seem different.

.22's will never make sense! You just have to find ammo they like and stick with it.

I've got to find a common ammo to group in this Clin Beyer barrel. I can see it is capable of some great groups but nothing I've shot so far is consistant enough to post groups. If the barrel wasn't capable, that would be one thing, but when it shoots 4 rounds touching and then one 1" off, I know it's not the barrel.
I shot like crap yesterday no matter what I shot. Maybe it's me.

I'm starting to wonder about my Mueller scope. I shot the CB build with open sight and it grouped decent, at least for open sights.

For precision shooting Federal Auto Match is not very accurate in ANYAR  rifle I own. It will
run well in a handgun.

The "flyer" syndrome you are experiencing is most likely shooter fatique induced, and may
be an example of "wishing in the shot."  But Federal, while quality centerfire ammo, just
won't shoot well in .22 rimfire AR's.

Having said that, we've got to remember that just about every gun shoots better or worse
with one brand or another.

Dave N, I've found that a number of the ammo's you'd expect to give exceptional accuracy
fall flat on their face, like Federal Ultra Match. Haven't found anything it's good for and the
cost has been ridiculous. Try Wolff MT or Eley EPS maybe... Once you hit the right combo
Clint's barrel will shine....

I just hate paying $13 a box of 50 for Eley but I've already wasted more money than that with crap ammo. If I could find Wolf MT around here I would get in. I might try some CCI standard. And a box of Eley to check myself.
I used to keep a box of Eley just to see if it was me or the ammo.

Then don't, Dave, see the link. Big Brown will come right down your driveway and hand you the box.

I called Gander Mountain.
I swear, it's like the Auto Zone of firearms. You don't have to know a damn thing about a firearm to work there.
I asked about Wolf Match Target .22LR. They never heard of it and certainly do not carry any Wolf products.
Idiot.

One place I called actually recommended Federal Bulk for Match ammo. God help me.

Auto match shoots great in my cz452 bolt gun. 1in @ 100 yds is pretty common.  I bought a ton of it just to shoot in the cz. My marlin model 60 shoots it pretty good too.
