Hey ya'll
When I go to put a round in the chamber it sticks pretty bad on the feed ramps. Sratches the bullet and so forth. Doesn't affect shooting but I want to know if this is a serious problem! It will load the round if I let the bolt slam forward from the furthest position. I just think it should be smoother. Thanks!!! |

The bullet and brass will usually get scratched up when chambered. It's not a sign of anything being wrong, especially if it is a newer weapon. If you are finding a considerable amount of copper or brass shavings in your lower and it's causing your shit to jam up, then you have a problem. It happens, don't worry about it unless you start having issues.

Do not walk the bolt forward via the charging handle!!!! The bolt needs to load the round under it full spring tension running forward to correctly strip the round out of the mag, then lock the bolt home.
Also, when you cycle a live round by hand, the tip of the bullet will catch the right hand side barrel lugs, and scratch the bullet on extractor. So on that note, best guess, the scraps are either coming from you trying to walk the bolt forward, or the off the barrel lugs as you are cycling the live round out. Post a photo of the scraps on the live round, and I can tell you where they are coming from. |

I also have that same issue, but to me it looks like the left feed ramp is a little bit deformed at the edge where it meets the upper receiver. Its not all burred up but it does look like the edge isn't as crisp as the other side. Issue??? Post a photo of the problem. |

Slight dent on the very end of the tip if from the loadings.
Check to make sure that the mag catch assembly threaded end is flush with the face of the mag release button. Next, pull the mag's down and CLP clean it (follower, inside of the mag body, and the spring. While you have the mag apart, check the bottom of the mag feed ramps for burs and if found, use a stone to remove the bottom of feed lip burs. When you load the mags (fully loaded mag is when the last/top round can be pressed down at least 3/4 of the way that it almost allowed another round to be loaded), rasp the back of the mag off your hand to make sure that all the round are seated to the back of the mag body. During normally cycle, the bottom of the carrier dragging back over the top round and the recoil back of the rifle will seat all the rounds to the back of the mag. As for the long scratch on the side of the bullet, that is from the end of edges on the barrel feed ramps. Some 400 wet/dry sandpaper wrapped on a chop stick will work to break the sharp ends of ramp edges to solve that problem. But need a photo of straight down the inside of the receiver to see the ramps head on to determine if more than just end of ramp polishing is needed. Also a shit load of brass shavings, so may have some other problem areas as well that need to be resolved. Get me a photo head on of the barrel feed lips, and I can post a write up to solve it and other problem areas as well (to solve the brass shaving problem). |

I have a bad lever installed so that could be part of the problem for the dent on the end. I'm gonna do some more tests. I don't have any brass shavings on mine. Just the paint |
| Here is the photo link, I guess it will work. I don't know how to get pictures up on here yet. http://s292.photobucket.com/user/djArnett33/media/WP_20150313_007_zps5668b336.jpg.html?src=pbhttp://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm18/djArnett33/WP_20150313_007_zps5668b336.jpg |

Who did this upper/barrel come from?
The barrel looks like it started it's life off as a not M-4 ramped barrel, then someone took a hand grinder to try to M-4 ramp the barrel instead. If you got this factory new, then send the upper (or entire rifle) back for a full refund. If you got this from someone her on the EE, then get staff involved, since the seller needs to refund your money (and it needs to go back to them instead). Bluntly, the barrel extension is toasted (barrel ramps), and the entire barrel needs to be replaced (read would cost more to replace the barrel extesnion on the barrel, then replace the entire barrel instead. |

Me. I got it from DSA arms. And the pic does look funky but in person it is normal! |

I'll believe you, so on that note, chop stick with some 400 wet dry around it to polish the very ends of the feed ramps to soft the sharp end of ramps on the chamber side of the ramps. Also, look at the bottom of the receiver extended ramp on the left ramp, and you can see the dimple from a low feed out of the mag with the tip of the bullet striking the receiver just below the start of the receiver extended ramps. So make sure to follow the rest of what I posted on the catch, the mags, and even loading them correctly. |
Well, idk if the ramps on mine was an issue, I didn't seem to get any good usable information from anyone. Although AR15.com has a substantial amount of good usable AR info, I went and shot my AR yesterday for the first time, after putting 120 rounds down range, I did not have one issue,it ran flawlessly. Now for the few people on here that like to take the wind out of peoples sail and basically call somebody's build junk or cheap, go find a hole, crawl inside and use yours to give yourself a lobotomy. I got more help and more possible solutions from "the firing line forum" than I have ever got from this website. People build what they can afford and what they want to do with their rifle is free for them to do. You should just appreciate that we are all on the same team,we enjoy ar's and firearms period.what brand, make, model, color, price of parts don't matter. As long as they build what they want, its reliable, and they have fun doing what they want, why should anyone degrade the person. I'll never come back to this site, some people on here just run their mouth to be seen on a forum, they offer no help and have no compassion for any problems that someone took time to get on here and try to find an answer, solution to his/her ![]() problem. Have a nice day and this goes for alot of people on here, not all.

| That second picture is not mine! Did not come from DSA and does look weird and you can definitely see the wear on the ramps. But my rifle (the first pics) is just fine. Please note the ammo is not denting on the tip. The paint is not on the tip and therefore looks like it is dented. Thank you all for the help! |
