I am somewhat new to surplus ammo (sorry to the mods if this is a repeat or covered elsewhere...I couldn't find it) and everyone is talking about IMI and South African like the sun shines out of the ammo can it comes in.
I am having trouble finding anything like this or even close. Maybe I am not looking hard enough (yeah right) or I am not looking in the right places. Not to give up an secrets in public you can IM me if you want to share (please). The poor college student would appreciate it! Edited to fix typo. Thanks to those who have sent an IM! |

You guys are a year or two late to be running across any 5.56mm surplus from online vendors. It has been gobbled up by the U.N., the GWOT and the arfcom ammowhores  !

| As far a surplus goes, information and availability is there if you dig, the price is another story! Sweet deals still happen, what you need is luck, know the value of what you want and move quick. I've been lucky 2 times in less than a year. If something pops up and you're not sure offer 2004-2005 prices. Did i say move quick? |
