[ARCHIVED THREAD] - First 308 AR build

Looking at doing a 308 build looking at using pmags and a 16" barrel, like a LMT or LaRue Predatar. Any pro tips or any info would be great.

Are you looking to build from scratch? I personally like Larue rifles. However, Getting a larue predatar 7.62 build (or even an OBR) is nearly impossible with their long wait list. I don't think you can get a lower or upper for a 7.62 from Larue,and will probably have to get it from a private sale. LMTs are easier to find, at least a complete rifle. Good luck.

Not looking to buy a Larue or LMT, i wish to build a similar 308 rifle. Should I use a DPMS lower,mega lower, uppers? Barrels ? Do regular ar15 handguards fit on 308 uppers ? Are the buffers tubes the same? These are some of the ?s i have
