I have fired some of the new Wold and was impressed with it for the money. It fired through my fathers Oly just fine and through my home built like there was no tomorrow. In fact, I liked it enough that I picked up a 1,000 rds so I can shoot the "other" stuff when I need to. For the money I can shoot a lot more. Take care |
The purpose of the polymer coating, and the laquer coating before it, was to prevent corrosion of the steel case during storage. Brass will not readily corrrode (turn green, yes). Steel is cheaper than brass, that's one reason why wolf is cheap. But they have to coat it with something to prevent the cartridge case from rusting. I shoot wolf, but it is definitely plinking ammo and not for accuracy shooting. |

You're right, of course, that the coating protects the steel cases that would otherwise begin to oxidize quickly. In addition to this, the folks at wolf claim their new "polyformance" coating provides "superior lubricity" that "eases wear in gun chambers and alleviates excessive operational and maintenance issues associated with rapid firing". |
