| You all seem knowledgable on the AR15. If you could only by one, which manufacturer would it be and why? |
| It all depends on how much you want to spend. I would buy from Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt, or Rock River Arms for starters. Colt and Armalite are probably the most expensive then Bushy and RRA. If I were you I would buy from RRA. In my opinion they have the best product for the money. Look in the picture thread for some great examples of all different kinds of rifles. |
| Welcome to the club, friend. eaglebite pretty much summed up what I was going to say. But if I had to pick one I would get a Bushmaster. Doesn't matter though cause once you get your first AR you will buy more. So it doesn't really matter which brand the first one is. [:D] |

Ohh a tough choice. Either a Colt 6400. Colt quality, nice civilain copy of the M4 (with many of the small details like the extended feed ramps and side sling adapter). Its a flattop and fairly light weight with the M4 profile barrel. Or a Bushmaster flattop with their lightweight barrel and entry stock. Again nice quality, chrome lined barrel (like the Colt), a bit lighter - but I'd add a 1" spacer to make it 'fit' right. I'm into the 'lightweight' and 'compact' carbines more so than the longer rifles. |
