Picked this gun up last weekend...  NIB Bushmaster E2S A3 Carbine 16" HBAR (BCWA3F-16).  I can't wait to get out and shoot it, just waiting for extra mags and ammo to arrive.  I think I got a pretty decent deal... $769.99 before tax, free shipping + $20 FFL transfer. hotohttp://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c360/gunner83/IMG_4764New.jpg

The sling is one I made.  Directions were given by ggllggll.  Thanks for the great and detailed post.  Sling does wonders and for $11, you can't beat it.

Thanks everyone for the great and wonderful posts!  The information helped greatly in determining my first AR purchase.  Now I bet I won't be able to stop with one I'm sure.  Too many options to add too...  I will get more pictures in the future if requested.

Thanks,
JJ

**Sorry for the size, I am on my laptop with screen size small.  Forgot about other puters.  I will resize the pictures tonight and repost tomorrow**

I ran a similar carbine for duty use for years and had a great time with it.  Before you know it, you will want an optic.... and its all down hill from there.

Are you planning on running that sling for duty use as well?

ETA-  Make sure you post your pics in the picture thread tacked in this section....

Not going to run that sling for patrol.  Gonna experiment with other slings and see what works best for me.  I built that one while waiting for my AR to arrive.  It was pretty easy thanks to the post.  Christmas is soon here, might buy myself some optics... I think that the disease is going to kill the bank account tho... JJ

make sure the carrier key screws are tight and staked.

short stroke test 5 times

6 mags, fast as you can reload and fire

verify zero

Solid comment for any weapon that you expect to use for real.

The ASP sling is certainly well worth looking into as it seems to be way ahead of the other single point slings out there, and the 3 points do a horrid job of letting you transition to weak shoulder firing.

Before I get carried away, I'll wait for your next thread asking about how it should be configured for LEO duty use.  The comments will be endless, but some good info would come out of it.

Welcome to the board.
