Hey Everyone
So I've been thinking about getting an AR for a while now, and I finally broke down yesterday and bought a stripped lower from Spikes. Got the LPK and Stock on the way as well. That was the easy part. Now I'm looking for uppers. I was very picky and wanted a 16" Middy with a low profile gas block, 10 or 12" Rail, and front and rear BUIS. I found EXACTLY what I was looking for at Rainier Arms, but I wanted to get a second (or third or fourth...) opinion on it. It is the Rainier Arms Combat Series Upper - CS16 16″ CMV 1:7 5.56MM Chrome lined Barrel Rainier Arms Forged Milspec M4 Upper Receiver Pinned Low Profile Gas Block Samson Handguard System - 10 CMT 5.56MM Bolt Carrier Group LMT Tactical Charging Handle Rainier Arms Xtreme Tactical Compensator What do you guys think? I haven't heard anything (Good or Bad) about Rainier Arms. Otherwise please feel free to offer your opinions. Oh also, I'm looking to spend no more than 1K on the upper. That figure includes the two BUIS. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out, I'm looking forward to getting this all together.

Well, if it is EXACTLY what you want, then get it. I have had nothing but good experience with Rainier Arms. I am sure that they would not sell you any junk. That said, The Samson Rails are not what most people around here like, but I had a set on a Stag upper that I liked quite a bit. I have no experience with that compensator, but they are easily changed if you find that you like something else. Again, Rainier is well respected here for a reason...For the price, it is an upper that I would buy.

| Rainier Arms is great. Personally i'd replace the samson with a Daniel Defense 10.0 Lite rail. I just put one on mine and its legit. the 10in is a good middle between the 9 and 12in, you should check them out. Also take a look at the VLTOR upper receivers, my buddy has one on his build and loves it, thinkin about gettin one myself. Good luck with your build, youve got a lot of great options to choose from. |

There was a law suit between Samson and Troy a couple years ago and most folks on this forum took the side of Troy, so blindly hate Samson. I didn't side with either myself because it had nothing to do with me personally. The Judge rule in favor of Troy, so Troy was right and Samson wrong. Danial Defense is the most popular brand on this forum. I own both and appreciate both. At the same price would take Daniel Defense, but depending on price would happily take another Samson |
