Hey im looking into getting my first AR and as of right now the only question i have is should i get a 16" upper or go ahead and get a SBR with a 10.5 upper?? im leanin towards the latter hogs )...

well, you can get the 16" NOW and shoot it...on the SBR, you are going to ahve to wait

ive waited this long, i can wait some more.. ...btw if i get a sbr with a 7.5" barrel, can i legally put any barrel longer then that on it even if its under 16"??

Go 16. Less unburnt powder flash , good all around accuracy, best for generalized targeting. Just my opinion as others may think smaller is better.

Yes. If it's a permanent change in barrel length then it's prudent to notify the ATF of the change.

Get the 16". Put in your Form 1. Wait and shoot the 16". When the form 1 comes back, order your 10.5", and shorten your 16" to a 14.5".
