| I am looking to build my first AR-15. Im wanting to use a 16' fluted barrel fitted with Mag Pul stock, and grip. I have a rail in mind, but im not very educated when it comes to lowers, and receivers. Im looking to build a quality gun but dont really want to exceed $1000. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks Cody |

any forged lower and parts is good. start with the PSA blemish. i bought my own lower and upper local just because i didn't want to mess with a ffl transfer. trigger parts would start off with the PSA full lower kit. was worth it for me.

Any brand will do, other than Blackthorne, Hess, or Vulcan. Olympic can be iffy. Plastic lowers are looked down upon, but they are cheap - I saw a complete plastic lower w/ stock on one table @ the show last weekend, and a complete upper on another, and the total was $500.
How far do you expect to shoot, and what do you expect to shoot? Meth lab guards on family ranch land @ 500 yds is a bit different requirement than paper @ the local 50 yd range. What lowers does your LGS have in stock, & what are their transfer prices? |
