I'm new to AR's and have done some research but could use some help and input from you guys I have a $700-800 budget. For the Lower I heard good things about Aero percision is everything I have heard true? If I got the Aero I would get the lower/part kit/stock kit.I am still undecided on the upper assembly I was thinking dpms but not sure what upper would match well with the Aero any input? Thanks a lot guys.

Is $7-800 your total budget or just your lower? Just kidding. |

Nope ha 700-800 for the whole project. I wish I could spend that on just the lower! Does anyone know if when you buy a complete lower/upper are they assembled when you get them? I have an Aero Precision A3 Upper that I like quite well. surplusammo.com sells Aero product and you can get a completed lower with DPMS lower parts kit and 6 position commercial stock for $189.99. Can't beat that and if you see it on the site it's in stock and ready to ship. If you'd like you can search for my Frankenplinker posts about a couple weeks ago. Just offering my humble $.02 and my small, creepy as hell, anti-fan club will probably be along any second now to tell you that it's not even worth that. Any who, here's to safe and happy shooting; and welcome!

IIRC, a complete upper or lower will shipped to you already assembled.
However, if you're on a tight budget, I'd get the parts sepeartely. Because the more you shop around, the more you stand to save here and there. a cheap lower stripped should run you around $70-90. A DPMS lower kit is your best choice and will run $60. Commercial spec M4 stock with buffer kit will run you only $50 or less. As for uppers, go look at Del-Ton, M&A Parts for cheap but good. Del-Ton is a bit backed up though, but you can get a complete upper with BCG for $395 (+45 for chrome lined). With any $$ you have left over, I'd go over to Primary Arms and look for one of their budget optics. THeir optics are cheap, but still good! If you ever decide to get different parts and start upgrading//accessorissing, sell off your unwanted parts on the EE forum here. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the replies guys your very helpful!
I just was poking around Del-Ton and found I can get a 16" light weight rifle kit with everything but the stripped lower for $465 and can get the Del-Ton Lower for $120 does this seem like a decent setup? I can get it shipped for $621.28 and have some money left over to customize it. Any input on that? |

if you want to hunt dear with a .223, get a barrel with 1x7 twist.
Some will tell you a 55gr bullet is enough to take down a deer; and it might if you get good shot placement, but I would opt for a heavier 70gr or above bullet for an ethical kill. bullets above 63 gr will require a faster spin than the standard 1x9 twist, so look out for that |

Ok thanks thats good to know. But I probably wont ever deer hunt with it I would rather bow hunt deer.
I just want to thank everyone again this site is very helpful and Im sure you guys get newbies like me all the time asking questions. Anyone else know anything about Del-Ton Inc.? I know they take awhile to ship because they are backordered but that wont be a problem for me. |
