Haven't been active on here for a while thanks to work but my first build is done and ready to hit the range once I get my PA hunting license. I went with a PSA upper (1in9 twist, melonite with MOE handguard), PSA mil spec stock & buffer, PSA LPK, EP Armory 80% lower and a DSarms BCG & CH (just plain jane mil spec), no name "holographic" red dot and a few GI mags. In total I'm in the build fro roughly $450 including mags and red dot. If anyone goes with a EP 80%, be aware the takedown pins don't always line up properly like in my case. I can knock it in but it doesn't go in smoothly. On a positive note, there is ZERO wobble between the upper & lower so that's a good thing at least.
Like I said at the beginning I haven't been able to shoot it yet but everything functions as it should with no hang ups and rounds will chamber and extract without an issue. With a mag in, the bolt holds open every time and the bolt release allows it to slam home and even though I'll probably never use it, the FA works as well |
