I just assembled my lower, and bought a complete upper from CMMG. A couple of questions, when I dry fire it (completely assembled), I cannot move the safety selector switch back to safe, it's frozen on fire. I have a WOA tuned 2-stage trigger in there, so I wasn't 100% sure how it went together. Also the safety selector switch isn't totally smooth.

Only other thing is how exactly do I install a magpul CTR butt pad? Do I have to remove that square piece on the CTR somehow?

The safety is only supposed to go to "safe" when the hammer is cocked.

Sounds like the "Mystery of the Missing Safety Selector Detent", with just the spring in contact with the safety selector you may have these issues.

Just my 2 cents

I'm 100% positive the detent is there...

+1

The selector will smooth out after you use it a while. If you're in a hurry you can remove the detent and remove a little of the point.

And for the CTR, that little plastic piece needs to come out. I used a screwdriver on mine.

Congrats on the build and the wepon will only go safe when the hammer is cocked.
