Just completed my first build with the help and guidence of fellow arfcom'rs. I have no military expreince, just a ton of shooting as a child and teenager. Peep sights are still new territory for me. I just sighted my gun in at 25 yrds, standing, walking to the target every shot to see the placement. The group in the photo is after I got it zeroed in. Still need to work on centering the front sight in the ring of rear sight.

Nice build. Thanks! Not too much into classifications, but almost a recce??? Just went with what was solid and well priced for its purpose. This site has helped me get it all together with out making too many wrong purchases. I managed to buy the wrong gas block, a gas tube (upper already had one), and a screw for the stock when the Magpul obviously does not need one to secure it to buffer tube. (a1 stock?). Now on to reloading......

Next addition to my project will be a SWFA SS 1-4x24 scope. After that I will get a mount for my sure fire light. Any suggestions on must have gear for this setup in regards to home defense/bug out? Thanks for the compliments as well! I'd say get a LaRue or Bobro mount for that optic if you want QD (either standard cantilever or extended depending on eye relief). If you don't need QD then most cantilever mount should work depending on eye relief. I personally prefer a QD mount for lights too. That way you can quickly and easily move the light from one weapon to the other or remove and use it by hand. |
