Just wanted to officially say hello to everyone and share some pics of the AR.  It's a DPMS lower with Stag internals, Del-Ton upper with YHM flip up front BUIS (trying to find a good rear for fair money as we speak), a cheapy Barska red/green dot (which I'll probably replace when funds become available), YHM free float hand guards, Hogue grip, M4 feeds, fully shrouded pin, and some enhanced grip p-mags which I "enhanced" myself...

Now I need to go shoot it sometime this week!

Thanks for everone's help with the knowledgable advice!!  Couldn't have done it without ARFCOM!!   Any advice as to what to do next with it?

Sorry about the crappy pics, but here they are...enjoy:

IMO i would get a different optic and hit the range running!!! Nice!!!!

I like the look of the red dot up there, but we're going to need a range report to see if it holds its zero, how long the battery life is, and how durable it is.

BTW, my two builds are DPMS lowers with Stag parts.

Yup...I think I'm gonna have to get a differnt optic, but I want to see how well it zeros and how well it holds....

Anyone know how to zero without rear BUIS?  Is it even worth it, or should I just wait to go to the range until I get my rear BUIS??  Thanks for looks and compliments!!

You really should get a rear sight. If you develop those skills, then the red dots will make you even better. Without a laser bore sight tool, you would have a tough time getting it to zero. There are several lower end iron sights that work well. Check out Sportsmans Guide I think they are under 50 bucks.

Thanks for the advice.  I actually just picked up a YHM rear flip up BUIS.  And while messing with the red dot, one of the adjustment screws broke, so back it goes.  I think I'll wait for a scope/sight til I master my irons...thank for the suggestions...

I also got a couple of minor additions for the AR, so after the range tomorrow, I'll post some updated pics!!

damn, what has 2 thumbs and likes AR-15s?

THIS GUY!

Good job bro.  For the money, I like my YHM flip up rear buis.  Got it sighted quickly and it has held just fine.
