I just completed my first AR15. I installed a Model 1 Sales complete kit on a RRA stripped lower. Total cost was $510 for everything including FFL transfer fee.

I wanted to use a J&T Dist AR kit but they took way too long to ship my order so I cancelled and ordered a Model 1 kit. The rifle I just completed is a 20" standard A2 and I will probably build a 16" A3 next but this time I will be more patient and wait for the J&T kit.

I have no big complaints about the Model 1 and to tell the truth all of the receiver parts went together great and seemed to be of very good quality. But, the cast/forged front sight and the carry handle were pretty rough and the charging handle is crooked and just does not feel right. I also had a heck of a time getting the upper receiver to pivot down so I could insert the takedown pin. I finally ended up using a hammer and block of wood to get the receivers to mate. I imagine I will probably have to use a hammer to take the upper and lower apart again. Overall I am not disappointed but I am not 100% pleased either.

The RRA lower receiver was great and I will recommend it to anyone but I do wish they had a cool logo to brand it with.

i also think it would be cool if they had a logo instead of just letters.
