I've been lurking for a while and finally registered.
Below is my first ar15 I kept.

Had bush, wingham, mp15 but sold each until I finally got my colt 6920
Sorry for iPhone pics-- figured everyone knows what a colt looks like.

Has great alignment

Finish was really nice for me, except when they punch the finger guard pin in... Dunno if that is common haha

My next step will be a nice rail... Still undecided
And can't decide which furniture I like more. Fde or black. I have same furniture in black (except its ACS blk vs STR fde)

Only indoor range by me was 23.5 yards, so I sighted my micro @ that for now
Again I'm new to rifles.

Top = standing with elbows on table
Bottom = free standing

That's a really nice stick and most definitely a keeper. Sky's the limit with whatever you want to do with it. You're already doing what it's made for... shooting and enjoying it.
And welcome to arfcom with a great first.

My Colt's trigger guard was installed by a retarded monkey as well.

Nice shooter OP.  The only drawback to owning such a fine weapon is the amount of money you're going to spend on it.  In medical parlance, it's called BRD...

Still trying to decide if ill add a rear QD plate--because factory stake job is so pretty.

Personally, I prefer the 2 point slings. Since there's a QD on the stock just add one to the forearm and retain your Colt factory staking.
But if the single point is your preference... a good poll question in a new thread.

Troy makes one that slides over the castle nut, it doesn't get in the way of the sliding stock $40-$45

Nice stick.  One of these days I'll buy a factory Colt.  Just something so nice about them.

I do prefer 2 point but I think i'll do the 2&1 sling point set up with vtac or ms4 sling.
I've been debating between Troy or MI HD

Just haven't found good clear pictures of how they look installed

I do like this one, just not sure what mount it is

Congrats on your first Colt.

Colt AR typically have minor factory handling marks, I'm a long time owner of 42 years now, with 6 previous pre ban rifles and carbines, now I currently have 5, two standard 6920 carbine, two 6721 HBAR heavy barrel carbine, and a HBAR fixed A2 stock lower half with USGI M16A2 Colt upper half.

To get rid of your minor bare finish and to protect it from future possible corrosion, you could use touch up pens the black aluminum for the lower receiver and steel cold blue for the steel roll pins.

Impact Weapons Components (IWC) makes a quick detachable sling mount for the MOE handguard, they have two models the standard one sticks out a bit more on the handguard, and the second model is a low profile Micro version which you have to send them your MOE handguard to have it installed by them.

I also have a MOE furniture carbine but in black color and not on a Colt, it's on my LMT M4 style 16" barrel carbine (my only non Colt AR), I like the ergonomics better than the standard military furniture and it is light as the standard furniture, I also have Magpul CTR and STR on my other Colt carbines great stocks.

My two favorite two point slings are the Vickers VCAS (made by Blue Force Gear) and LaRue Tactical padded (made for them by Viking Tactics), maybe try them out and pick which one you like best.
