Inspired by some of the KISS/IDF builds, Here's my first M4gery:

Stag Lower
RRA LPK
DPMS Buffer Tube
CavArms Telestock, and C4 Handguards
Falcon Ergo Grip
CMMG C7/A1 Upper
RRA B/BC/CH
Bushmaster 14.5" barrel w/ perm Phantom 5C1 and side sling mount
Colt 9mm Buffer
Armalite A2 rear sight
BlueForce 3pt sling setup as 2pt

With the 9mm buffer it shoots like my midlength.  A little lighter, swings a bit quicker, and better balance too.  My new favorite KISS/IDF/SHTF/ZOMBIE rifle.  3 30 rnd mags with no malfunctions.  I know I need to shoot it more but I promised to let my younger brother break it in when he returns from Marine Corps boot camp.

I couldn't agree with you more. My experience is exactly the same.

Awesome!  That is the direction I think I am going to head with my first build.  I've always liked the look, and everyone speaks quite positively about how they handle/balance.  Again, nice job.

How does the 9mm buffer affect the rifle differently? Does it lower the recoil a bit more ? I guess it also slows down the cycle time of the action (I realize its not fully automatic). Good looking rifle by the way, she definately is a looker.

It does slow the cycle speed of the action a bit(not enough to notice with a semi), but the main reason it reduces felt recoil is by delaying the unlocking of the bolt.  This allows the gas pressure to drop a little further before the bolt carrier begins its rearward movement.  Since the gas pressure is lower, the bolt carrier doesn't slam into the back of the buffer tube as hard.

The lower speed of the bolt carrier also makes it easier for the extractor claw to hold onto the fired case.

I see you have constructed a new "Lumpy Approved" M4. Your skills are complete, indeed you are powerful as the Emperor has foreseen.

Nice looking weapon there Earlan357I noticed that thick rubber buttstock pad. What brand is it and where did you get it?

Nice Build!! I have an A1 upper I've been thinking about doing the same with. Does anyone have any experience with the hydrolic buffers for slowing up the cycle of function?

From what I've read, they are reliable and reduce recoil slightly better than the 9mm buffer, but not enough to justify the additional $65.
