Inspired by some of the KISS/IDF builds, Here's my first M4gery: Stag Lower RRA LPK DPMS Buffer Tube CavArms Telestock, and C4 Handguards Falcon Ergo Grip CMMG C7/A1 Upper RRA B/BC/CH Bushmaster 14.5" barrel w/ perm Phantom 5C1 and side sling mount Colt 9mm Buffer Armalite A2 rear sight BlueForce 3pt sling setup as 2pt With the 9mm buffer it shoots like my midlength. A little lighter, swings a bit quicker, and better balance too. My new favorite KISS/IDF/SHTF/ZOMBIE rifle. 3 30 rnd mags with no malfunctions. It does slow the cycle speed of the action a bit(not enough to notice with a semi), but the main reason it reduces felt recoil is by delaying the unlocking of the bolt. This allows the gas pressure to drop a little further before the bolt carrier begins its rearward movement. Since the gas pressure is lower, the bolt carrier doesn't slam into the back of the buffer tube as hard. The lower speed of the bolt carrier also makes it easier for the extractor claw to hold onto the fired case. |
