Preface:  I sorry to say there will be NO pics added to this report. I apologize but it's just the way it goes sometimes.

Picked up the Charles Daly M4LE yesterday. I have to admit to being a little apprehensive. I had no idea what I was going to find. So I took a few seconds and a good deep breath before opening the case. The tension eased at first glance. The finish was/is exceptional. Tight fitting upper and lower. No slop what so ever.  Front sight base was straight.

Pulled the BCG to check for gas key staking. Best I've ever seen.  Castle nut was staked very well too. Next I took a look at the M4 feed ramp cuts. Again, top notch.

Next was to test the trigger. Nothing special here. What you'd expect from a off the rack AR.

Everything checked out Okay so I laid down the coin and was off to the ranch for the all important ammo test.

After a good cleaning followed by a good lube job I mounted an ACOG TA11 and went with Igman M855 (62gr) for the ammo test. 200 rounds of slow and rapid fire with no problem what so ever.

It was windy yesterday with gusts to 25MPH so long range accuracy, at least by me, was really not an option. Fact is I didn't get off the 50M mark. I was about to move to 100m when unexpected company arrived (non shooters) so that pretty much ended the day.

Two things I may change are the trigger and butt stock. There's nothing wrong with them other than they're run of the mill.

So if my M4LE is any indicator, IMHO, CCD has a hit.

Of course YMMV.

Cool, I just wish they offered a 14.7" like CMMG, or better yet a 14.5" with an A2 and an extra washer, that would kick ass (along with the typical demands, quality M4 feedramps, chrome lined chamber and bore, 1/7 twist, MPI bolt, ect.

I think it's cool they are getting into the AR market and actually listened to what some people had to say.

Maybe if the line that's out there now takes off other flavors will follow.
