So I jumped in with both feet and built a Pistol AR so I could have everything in case I wanted to move it to an SBR in the future.

It is still a work in progress as I'm having the gas block pinned into place but you can see how everything test fit together.

The build is:

Upper:
VLTOR MUR 1S
Daniel Defense 10.3" barrel
Midwest Industries Gen2 SS 12" handguard
KAK Flash Hider (will replace with KX5 whenever it is released)
BCM BCG
BCM Charging Handle (Small)
Troy flip up sights

Lower:
Mega Pistol stamped Lower
Daniel Defense LPK
Phase 5 Pistol Buffer kit
Noveske endplate with QC mount
standard QD mount

So far I'm liking the setup, I'm looking forward to getting some rounds out of it and get it zeroed in.

Is that the slimline flashcan or the standard flashcan?  I was thinking about using the same rail, not sure what flashcan would fit.

How do you like the KAK flash can? All I need to finish my build is the KX5 to fit inside my NSR rail and I am getting impatient!

NICE!  The slimline handguard makes the front end look LOOOONNNNNGGGGGGG, but it also looks sleek...easy to handle.
Again, very nice!

It is the slimline, the normal one is just a touch too big to fit into the rail.  I am very, very impressed with the rail, it weights almost nothing but it is ridiculously solid.   I only run mine slick so I don't need anything to mount on it, so perhaps there are better rails out there for mounting, but for me I wanted to get my hand as close to the end of the barrel for stability as possible which is why I went with the MI rail, it is decently priced, light, and small circumference for a good grip.

I haven't shot the KAK yet, it seems pretty nice.  I have a KX5 on order so once it get released it will be shipped to me and that will go on the gun.  I don't see the KAK being that much different other than it not being serviceable like the KX5 seems to be.  For the price for the KAK you can't really go wrong as long as you don't pin it into place and can change it if you hate it.  They sent me two non-slimlines and a slimline for some reason (I ordered ONE slimline).  So I don't know if they just felt generous or had some issues or what.  I have emailed them multiple times and they haven't said a word, they only charged me for one, so I think they just considered them freebies.

I just got the KAK slim mounted today. Fit nicely inside my NSR rail. Can't wait to go shoot it.

I hope you like it.  If I get mine built tomorrow I will try it out Saturday.  Otherwise I have to wait a week before I can try it out.  I have to also get my sights, they are supposed to be here tomorrow but we shall see.

I got my Larue sights today, but my barrel and gas block still aren't here, just shipped from Adco today.  so it will be next weekend before I can put it together.
