I've been lurking here for a solid month gathering as much info as I can from all the different areas to avoid asking redundant and embarassing questions. I should get my first AR in about 3 weeks, a RRA A4 Flat Top. I'm working on getting my accessories (rails, sights, optics, etc)now so I can complete my rifle when it arrives.
I've had several red lasers in the past, but being very color blind, I quickly lose the red dot at even short distances on dark backgrounds. The green light would be far more visable for me. I've read about 10 pages in the section and have done some searches. I'm just wondering if you guys have come to final determination of the best options for green lasers. I've seen some mentioned... usually followed by DON'T BUY... CRAP... etc, so I'm not sure which direction to go. I'm looking for good quality stuff, so I don't need it to cost $50. I'm leas concerned about price, and more concerned about quality and usability on my rail. You're recommendations are appreciated. |
| I just put my money where my mouth is. I bought another one of these green lasers (http://stores.ebay.com/aevea1976) for my shotgun. I just sent back another brand I bought thinking it would be better (because it advertised it was even brighter––it wasn't) and purchased another of one of these. It is way bright and the price is half the other and comes with a releasable attachment. The one I sent back advertised it was a measured 20mV. Well this one blew it away. Good luck Chris |

Quoted: Welcome to the site. Thanks. I appreciate it. I've spent the past several weeks reading all I can trying to get up to speed. It's very easy to understand things conceptually, but the actual nuts and bolts so to speak can be challenging. There's also so much misinformation and marketing hype that it's sometimes difficult to get to what you actually need. I've learned a great deal in a very short time. |
| eracer.......!!!!holy crap see the prices on those things!!!! wow. heck im pinching pennies on just the rifle. I only know one person in the military, some off the accessories he has are out of this world. military issue or not they are always way out of any league around locally. His IR NV digital range finder earth destruction modulator scope thing is insane. Not to mention his flash lights. When he shows me how much he pays for some of this stuff. My stuff seems less cool. |

FYI - Someone I know bought the 75mW green (Phoenix). I would never use it on a weapon (for several reasons) but it is great fun at parties. |
