Lurked here long time, finally trying a post. I just built a retro-ish rifle and man does it bring back memories of the the old days. Wifey laughs at my manual of arms drill. My carbine is sulking in the safe.....
I had an extra A1 upper and have been looking for a barrel of any sort. There does not seem to be any to be had. Happend across a 20" heavy barrel at the funshow in Tyler and snatched it up. Could have sold it three times before I left. Got bored Sunday and went to the funshow in Mesquite and found some triangular handguards and an A1 buttstock for $20 each. Put it together and I like it. The heavy barrel is a little odd, but I got over it. Anybody seen any A1 grips for sale? I'd like to post a picture but can't seem to figure it out. Tim S. |

Attempt at picture of rifle. http://s642.photobucket.com/albums/uu150/tsnellgrove/th_flash_sp.jpg Attempt at picture of flash suppressor. It is not the barrel I wanted, but I was so happy to find any barrel that I figured, WTH? I can always change it later. Or maybe just change the suppressor. The guy said it was a 1 in 7 twist. There are no markings whatsoever on the barrel itself. I held it way away from my face the first time I shot it. Worked just fine. It really brings back the memories of my marine days. They carbine that I have is ok, but just not the same if you know what I mean. Kelbeast, I would be real interested in that grip. Tim S. |
