Has any one had any expereince with the First Samco M44 Rails? Specifically ease of mounting, after installation did the rails stay securely, any trouble with lasers holding their "zero"? How does the quality compare to GG&G? Any input would be appreciated.

I don't think they compare to GGG.

another option would be the YHM handguards, the pricing is close.
but they can be hard to find at times.

Stay away from the M44's ... I'd look into the Surefire hg's for probably a little less than another $100.00. I went from the the M44's to a SIR but if had it to do over again I'd get the Surefire Rails and save a couple of hundred dollars. The M44's problem seemed that they might be able to spin although they were secure enough that they wouldn't but they did get really wobbly during extended firing sequences when using a VG and at that point you understand why good rails are expensive. But I figured dollar for dollar why get any railed forend if it wouldn't hold an optic at zero. You get 4 rails on the M44's and really can only use two 3oclock and 6oclock for a light and a VG.    IMHO

if your not going to mount optics on it then get the surefire or yhm instead.

not much more in cost but much better quality.

GG&G rails is much better but for the price range go with YHM 2 piece.

Funny I see alot of these FIRSH M44 rails here in Iraq.  Not sure if they are issued or private purchase.
