At this point I need to pick out a a handguard and a Delta ring assy.

Post edited to reflect the stainless bbl which is generally not considered cheap.
As a first build and with very limited experience in part selection there is a lot of guesswork.
This build should be cheaper than almost any locally available AR-15, that is also why this build is considered "cheap."

Thanks, any favorite LaRue Tactical suppliers or just to the manufacturer?
SWS has a nice reputation but are out of stock.

Go with Larue, order directly from them. About 2 weeks wait time and comes with all parts needed....

They look good.
Will wait to put it together until I measure the length needed and order the rascal.

Sights needed.
Any Back Up Iron Sights (BUIS) recommended.
My AR -10 has MI's.

My build is looking similar and yes it is cheaper but not budget. I figure what I'm going to have when I am done is going to be comparable to a $2500 gun but I'll get it done for under $2K and get exactly what I want. All that is minus optics though.

My lower is almost identical just some different brands, the upper is very similar with some different brands (Noveske barrel), Biggest difference I am doing an Adams Arms piston set up with their bolt and I'm going to use their Samson rails.

For BUIS I'm going to use Troy Battle sights.

When it comes to optics I'm figuring EOtech.

Old C&R. I started going there after Bennett's closed down. Too bad we don't have any real gun stores down here in Ohio. I swear this place has never heard of the AR.

If you're going to do a Larue rail you'd better do Troy sights.  MI's would be ugly with such a pretty rail!

The 9.0 rail from Larue will stop just before/behind your gas block.I have the same barrel

Ok, but I want a PWS FSC too.
And one for the AR-10 too.
Oh, gee, the children's inheritance.
So much for the cheap stainless build.
Is there one place to buy it all???

LaRue looks like they have everything you need.
Rail, BUIS, and the compensator.
The Troy sights have a LaRue logo if you buy from their site.
Here's a LaRue 12" rail with troy sights

Actually my build is almost exactly like yours but LMT stock.....only waiting on the Larue 9" handguard
Yes, I'll post pics when done

Money's all gone!!!
Well I ordered the PWS FSC556, FSC30 and the Troy sights. Went with Denny's because they were a little cheaper, $440.
Deduct $95 due to the FSC30 for my AR-10 if you really want to add up how "cheap" this AR-15 build really is.
A trillion here, a trillion there and pretty soon you are talking some real money.
Might go with something plain in the handrail department until the choice handrails are back in stock and I git my first stimulus check from 'Bama. Ha!

Received the handguards from PK yesterday. $27 shipped.
Also received 10 30 rounders from classic arms $162+
Do not want to wait for weeks to get some very expensive free floaters that will slow the next build down.
I know, not very cool, but I shot up a barrel at 220 yds with my AR-10 and I had NO sights or flea floater at the time.
The wind blew the shots a little but all I did was sight down the barrel, very surprising.

No tools from Bushmaster yet.
Will cancel the order and get them somewhere else, I understand they are busy.
Why wait if we do not need to?

Did I miss the "cheap" part of the first post? Looks like a nice parts list, but not cheap in my book.

It started out as a way to beat the 11% Federal tax, the 5% State tax and the dealer markup.
It kinda got out of hand but good.

I keep trying to post this picture. Frustration.
