Im getting my first .308 rifle. my question is simple what is a good deal on buying bulk .308 ammo

i would say $.50 per round is a hell of a deal but currently i would buy at $.60 and have done so... but i only bought it for the brass cases bc i reload my rounds

i may start reloading but right away i just want to see how much im gonna shoot the gun.

I used to get surplus .308 for less than $1.50 a box in the early 90's. Now you are looking at about $10-$15 a box. I would start reloading. Get a Single stage press. You will save enough to pay for itself. In sort order.

Last Friday PSA had great quality AE XM80CS 149 gr. for $299 per 500. I got 1K shipped for $635. Felt that was a good deal. Saw it yesterday for $319 plus shipping also at PSA. Keep your eye out on gunbuddy.com as well as the other ammo search engines.

As someone already mentioned 60 cpr is about the cheapest brass decent quality ammo you are gonna find and I do not see that price going down any time soon. In 08' just before the election .308 in battle packs could be had at .25 cpr easily. That dried up fast.
