Hi,
I am currently building my first ar 15 rifle. I have bought a complete factory one before and now decided to build my own. I have already purchased a bcm 16in hammer forged upper and now looking to get a lower for it. I have been doing tons of research and I still can't decide on a lower brand wise. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or things to keep in mind when looking for one. I am sure this question has been asked a million times before. Any help would be appreciated. |
| I used a Mantis Arms billet lower. I have to admit that I'm not crazy about their logo but I like the built in trigger guard and the overall appearance. I think the best looking feature is the trigger guard. It is more squared-off as opposed to rounded/curved. I put an SD-E trigger in there and it looks great. But, like others have said, they are not for everyone. |

I just came across this by accident and thought it might help. Spike's lowers on sale for $89.99 Not a bad price either. I paid $115 last December.

| That does look like a good price. Tha me for the link. Thanks for some help ya I know noveske are expensive. Waste sure if there would be a big difference. Also wasn't sure if the spikes would ha e trouble matching up to the bcm or not. Should I get a lpk from the same manufactor that I get the lower from? Plan is to put a Alg act trigger in it. |

Mil-spec LPK should fit in an Mil-spec lower. I may be wrong but I don't think you can put billet lower on a forged upper. If I am incorrect I welcome the flogging so I can learn too!
Mil-spec forged lowers are roughly the same. Nothing fancy until you get to the "big names". I have used $200 lowers and now I mill my own 80% lowers. I see no real diff short of price! ALL my 6 rifles perform 100% of the time |

I think I'm gonna use Ares Armor's 80% billet lower to build my wife her .308 for Christmas. Go with the Signature; they're really nice. Still on sale for $160, too (anodized one). I have one sitting here, just need another $1k for the other parts. lol. Gonna use an ACS-L or STR stock, MIAD grip and PSA's 18" free float upper. |

Yes sir! That's the one I want! My wife is best shooter in family and she wants a long range rifle!
